Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year! We FaceTimed with our family back in CT over Christmas and had our Christmas dinner at the local Waffle House which suited us just fine!
We finally decided on a manufactured home in an over-55 community that fit the bill! It is in Flat Rock which is a village within Hendersonville, home to Carl Sandburg's Historic Home and the Flat Roock Playhouse. It has two bedrooms, two full baths and a great three-season room. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
View of left side:
Front on...I think those may be boxwoods?
On the right side, currently having a nifty ramp being built onto it:
The right side again showing the carport:
We are currently painting the kitchen.
The sunporch!
My walk-in tub!!! Oh yeah, baby!!!
This unit is the perfect size for us, and best of all we were able to pay cash and have NO DEBT!
First time for that for either of us, and it feels great! We can even save a little each month. That's what downsizing and moving out of Connecticut did for us!
Happy 2016!

Love your new home. It is so beautiful. So glad that you and Steve are happy and debt free. That must feel great. I love the 3 seasons room. Glad you had a great Christmas and Have a very Happy New Year which we know you will in your new home. Did you get everything unpacked from the Pod yet? That will probably take a while. Keep us posted as how you and Steve are doing. So happy for you guys. Love to you both. Bea & Harry.
Thanks Bea! We only have two days to unload the storage unit; they are picking it up on Saturday! We again rented a hand truck and Steve is hustling. We are finding that quite a bit of our furniture is too large for our spaces, so will look for a furniture consignment shop to not only buy but sell as well. Happy New Year to you both, and especially improving health for Harry! Love, Robin

Just clicked your name from RVSues' comments. Nice site. Your new home looks really nice. I didn't realize they have these type communities in SC. I know Florida is full of them. I think you made a good choice.
Hi Barbara! Thanks for stopping by my blog! So far we are quite happy here. We have never lived in a mobile home before, but heck, it's like a big RV without wheels! Much of the furniture we brought from CT does not fit the scale of our new home, so some selling/buying is in order.
Still working on ironing out some bugs in my blog so it is a work in progress; probably always will be! Cheers, Robin
