Jeckyl island Beach. 2/24-25, 2014

Overnight in Cracker Barrell parking lot in Jacksonville, FL...no WIFI...today (Tuesday) drove to Brunswick, GA,,,Golden Isles RV Park, PA campground only $17...beautiful day so we are heading to Jeckyl Island Beach!

Wow, we had a tremendous afternoon on Jeckyl Island!  The weather was spectacular!  We drove around a bit, and even if the weather is lousy tomorrow, we can still check out St Simons Island, etc.  The rate here is $17/night with PA with a three night max. and the campground actually on Jeckyl  Island is $28/night with w/e.  We could easily spend a week here, maybe beginning of March to ensure warmer weather...

We re-upped for a second night here and may spend a third night!

(Note: This is a really good campground...down to earth and flexible...could stay here for a week next year!)

Robin, I checked out St. Augustine area, and there are Good Sam campgrounds there. Did you see any in your book?

Finally, a beach! I would hang out there as long as you can manage. Still 6 inches of snow on the ground here and single digits tonight and every night for the next week! I think we tent camped on Jeckyl Island once long ago.

I may call you tomorrow mid day -- got my MRI results today and consult with a surgeon in the couple of weeks.

Snow tonioght..

We are staying for at least one more night but a big front is coming through tonight and it's going to be miserable here for quite a few days. We are going out tomorrow to find a walk-in clinic for me...still vertigo...and I want to check out St Simons Island...isn't that what you were thinking for next winter? So far we are extremely impressed with this area! Yes, do call me tomorrow!

These pictures are beautiful. Am so jealous. It is 17 here this morning and not going to get much warmer for the rest of the week and maybe snow again this week. Cannot wait until spring and warm weather. We are so glad you are have a wonderful time. Look forward to seeing you and hearing all about your trip when you get back. Bea & Harry

Rainy and chilly today. It is going to be sunny and about sixty here tomorrow so we are staying another night and then will spend the day tomorrow exploring the islands here off the coast of Georgia. My mom is interested in St Simons Island for next winter...
